Book Your Next Massage Online With Your HSA/FSA Card
Use Your HSA/FSA Card to Book Your Massage Sessions Online
For a long time, prioritizing your healing and nervous system care meant paying out of pocket and chasing down receipts to submit to your HSA or FSA provider for reimbursement. While we were always happy to help you get those funds back, we knew it was an extra chore on your to-do list. That is why we are so excited to share a major upgrade to your booking experience: Soul Trine now officially accepts HSA and FSA cards directly through our booking system! You can now bypass the reimbursement runaround and use your pre-tax health dollars to secure your sessions instantly.
Please note: At this time, direct HSA/FSA card booking is available exclusively for our massage sessions.
Taking care of your body is healthcare, and we want to make accessing that care as frictionless as possible. Here is a quick, step-by-step guide on how to use your card at booking, along with what you need to know to keep your account compliant under typical HSA/FSA guidelines.
How to Book Your Session Using Your HSA/FSA Card
We use MassageBook to handle our scheduling, and the platform makes using your health card just as simple as booking with a standard credit card.
Select Your Service. Head over to our Massagebook booking page. Choose the specific massage session or therapeutic massage package that fits your current recovery and wellness goals. (Note: Direct HSA/FSA card processing is currently limited to massage services only.)
Choose Your Date and Time. Pick the appointment slot that best fits your schedule.
Enter Your Health Card Details. When you reach the checkout screen to secure your appointment, simply enter your 16-digit HSA or FSA debit card number, expiration date, and CVV code in the payment field.
Confirm Your Booking. Complete the checkout. You will immediately receive a confirmation email with all of your session details.
What to Do After You Pay: Keeping Things IRS-Compliant
While our payment system will process your HSA/FSA card seamlessly, health benefit administrators operate under strict IRS regulations. To ensure your purchase is fully validated and to protect yourself in the event of a routine account audit, we highly recommend keeping the following guidelines in mind:
1. Secure a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)
The IRS considers massage therapy an eligible medical expense if it is prescribed to treat a specific physical or mental health condition (such as chronic muscle tension, back pain, joint issues, anxiety, or physical rehabilitation).
The Step: Ask your primary care physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, or mental health professional for a Letter of Medical Necessity.
What it needs: This is a simple, brief note from your doctor stating why massage therapy is medically necessary for your care, along with a recommended duration or frequency (e.g., “massage therapy twice a month for six months to treat chronic lower back pain”). You do not need to show this to us; simply keep a digital copy in your personal tax or health files.
2. Save Your Itemized Receipt
FSA/HSA administrators frequently request documentation to verify that funds were spent on eligible clinical care rather than general relaxation.
The Step: Immediately after booking or completing your session, check your email for your itemized receipt from MassageBook. It will detail the specific service provided. Save this PDF to a dedicated folder on your computer or upload it directly to your provider’s online portal if they flag the transaction for verification.
We are incredibly grateful to partner with you on your physical healing and alignment journey. Being able to use your pre-tax benefits directly is an amazing tool to support your wellness without the extra financial stress.
Confirm your HSA/FSA usage protocols with your healthcare administrator.
We can’t wait to see you at the table!
Warmly,
The Soul Trine Team
